The Beretta M9 is a full-size 9mm semi-automatic pistol from Beretta's 92 series. It uses a short-recoil, falling-block locking system in double/single action and ships with a factory 15-round staggered magazine. The pistol features a 4.9 in (125 mm) cold-hammered, chromium-plated barrel, an overall length of 8.5 in (217 mm) and an unloaded weight of approximately 34.4 oz (975 g).
Controls and safety include an ambidextrous manual safety-decocking lever, an automatic firing-pin safety and a chamber-loaded indicator. Sights are an integral blade front and a dovetailed notched-bar rear with white inlays. The frame is a light alloy with checkered plastic, sand-blasted grips and the slide/barrel use a Bruniton finish (black/Bruniton coated).
