The Beretta APX A1 Compact is a striker-fired, semiautomatic 9x19 mm pistol built around a serialized stainless-steel chassis and a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame. The Compact model features a 3.7in (94 mm) barrel and ships with magazines rated for 15 and 10 rounds.
Ergonomic features verified from the factory include interchangeable backstraps, a reversible magazine release, dovetailed steel front and rear sights, and an accessory rail under the frame. The APX A1 uses a striker action and incorporates multiple safeties including a trigger safety, striker deactivation button, firing-pin block and out-of-battery safety; the slide also accepts devices via mounting plates.
