Auto Mag .44 AMP with 8.5-inch barrel. Made by TDE in El Monte, serial number AO7744 features an 8.5-inch barrel with red ramp front sight, Mag-Na-Port (two ports), adjustable rear sight on matted rib, hard chrome finish and custom wood grips by Michael Ward. Total round count, per consignor, is approximately 500. CUSTOMIZATION: Acquired by the consignor in 1981 from the original owner, the entirety of the custom work and modification to this pistol was attributed to Harry Sanford. However, this cannot be proven by documentation. Other than modifications listed elsewhere, a solid bolt was added, the hammer lightened, the trigger tuned and the pin passing through the bolt retaining ring was welded into position. CONDITION: The bore is bright and shiny. When disassembled, no signs of excessive wear or abuse are visible. Finish is about 95 percent, with the majority of loss caused by scuffing from the scope mount. The left grip panel has chip at the top rear, and the putty in this repair is cracking. EXTRAS: Pacific Durachrome three-die set, leather shoulder holster (no maker's mark, fits scoped Auto Mag with up to 10.5-inch barrel), aluminum clamshell mount with integral rail, Leupold EER 2x with Duplex reticle and Stoney Point quick adjust elevation knob.
