The Taurus Model 44 is a large-frame, six-shot revolver chambered in .44 Magnum. It is double-action/single-action with a ported barrel and adjustable rear sight, and ships with a rubber grip. The stainless-steel finish on the 8 3/8" variant is a matte/stainless treatment.
The 8 3/8" (8.38 in.) barrel variant (model 44SS8) has an overall length of 13.75 in. and a listed weight of 57 oz. The ventilated/ported barrel design on the longer-barrel variants accommodates reduced felt recoil and the vent rib on the 6.5" and 8.375" models can accept an optional scope-mount base.
