It has both an internal transfer bar safety and the Taurus patented internal hammer lock that is the least obtrusive of all revolvers’ internal locks. Finish is an excellent bright blue with diminished glare serrated sight upper surfaces. Hammer and trigger are richly color casehardened, and the grip is a very comfortable Taurus factory rubber combat grip with finger grooves and palmswells. A word about the .22 Magnum caliber itself. According to the little-heeded 1986 FBI Report that dispelled the fanciful but popular and persistent notion of handgun stopping power, this is about as lethal a caliber as a person can get, the .22 Magnum, in a handgun. Twelve inches of penetration is not a problem with this caliber. It is effective, too, with CCI’s .22 magnum shotshells.
