Seller Description
PRICE REDUCED;This Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 27, .357 MAGNUIM with, original finish and grip panels., and ,and still has beautiful original finish and grips panels Bore is in outstanding shape and the mechanics can't be improved. The smooth. double action trigger and the crisp single action trigger pull. show why it was used as a hunting weapon for some forty years.. This revolver left Springfield in late 1954 as is shown by the serial number of S1021xx stamped on the butt of this revolver. There is also an assembly number? of X (appears to be a X24319) on the frame where the cylinder yoke falls into place with the frame. The six inch barrel and the Patrige front site blade, opposing screw rear site, currently sighted at 6 o'clock .I must call this a 98.5% weapon as it was long used but well maintained. The only flaw in the finish is where the bluing has been worn from the top of the front blade being drawn and replaces from a holster for forty years. The blue on top of the of the blade has been removed from the front blade. Believe it or not fifteen or so years ago I saw the previous owner hit twelve beer cans at 100 yards with twelve hand loads. Then he put this fine revolver away and opened his first beer of the day. These two numbers have caused some confusion as to thjs date of manufacture and if it was an experimental revolver of some sort.
