Built on Smith & Wesson's extra-large X-Frame, the Model S&W500 is a five-shot, double/single-action stainless steel revolver chambered for the .500 S&W Magnum. This SKU is the 4.0" satin stainless version with a synthetic recoil-absorbing grip and a 10.25" overall length.
The 4" Model 500 ships with an interchangeable compensator/muzzle-brake configuration and is fitted with a red ramp front sight and adjustable white-outline rear sight. The heavy stainless construction and compensator make this configuration intended for heavy-recoil big-bore use such as handgun hunting and recreational/range shooting.
