Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 986 is a compact 9mm Luger revolver built on S&W's medium (L) frame. The PC 986 features a 2.5" stainless steel barrel paired with a titanium-alloy unfluted cylinder and a Performance Center tuned action for improved single- and double-action trigger characteristics.
The revolver ships in a matte stainless finish with ergonomic wood grip panels and a 7-round capacity. Other factory features confirmed for this model include an overtravel trigger stop and a recessed precision crowned barrel. The 986 is marketed by Smith & Wesson as a Performance Center carry/competition-capable wheelgun.
