Smith & Wesson .32 Long model 30-1 Nickel 3 inch Round Butt ca 1967 renickel Tennessee Domiciled Revolver

This revolver migrated to us after a career spent in East Tennessee in the Knoxville area. At some point it went back home to Massachusetts, we think, to get renickeled. Its 824000 range serial number and later style thumb latch probably date it to 1966 or 1967. Oversize conversion grips may very well be original to this .32 Hand Ejector, model 30-1. Nickel is quite strong throughout, only with dark etchy toning spots underneath the grips to the nickel. The telltale sign of renickeling is the left side logo being very weak, and the hammer and trigger being nickeled as well. Note that the hammer spur has a hairline crack where it joins the hammer body, but plenty of strength left to that part. We rate this 30-1 as Very Good / Refinish, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Note that the left grip panel is chipped underneath its top area, not conspicuous. Apart from the hammer status, this Model 30 is Excellent mechanically; bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Cylinder times correctly, ahead of the hammer break, in all six positions. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal, both with the trigger relaxed and with it completely depressed. Barrel is 3 inch; round butt J frame; capacity 6 rounds of .32 Smith & Wesson short and .32 Smith & Wesson Long ammunition interchangeably.
