Seller Description
Smith & Wesson "Victory" pistol. This is a WWII pistol with a 6"barrel. The frame is in good to very good condition while the barrel is in excellent condition; especially for a weapon this old. It is called a "Victory" because there is a "V" before the serial number. It is a .38 (not .38 special). Has the serial number stamped 4 places on the weapon; On the frame between the grips on the bottom, the cylinder between two of the loading cylinders, on the barrel under the ejection rod and finally on the inside of one of the grips.. Marked "United States Property" above the cylinder on the frame. Has an original holster that is in good condition. It was purchased by my Father after his tour of duty and he had it for 35-40 years and it was fired less than twenty times. I still have almost a full box of Winchester AMMO that is also 40 plus years old that will ship separately. I also have the original receipt where my Father paid for the weapon. All the serial numbers match. This pistol does not appear to have a recessed cylinder but the barrel is Pinned. This is a feature of Smith & Wesson that was discontinued in 1965(I believe)
