S&W "TRIPLE LOCK" .44 Special DBL Action Revolver

Smith & Wesson "TRIPLE LOCK" .44 Special Double Action revolver with a 5" barrel. Bought in 1976 this .44 special was made in 1908, Serial #11xx (15,375 were made in 1908 according to "S&W 1857-1945") with 41xx on crane & frame. Has S&W deep black-blue-black matte finish which seems to be VERY deep and inside barrel is in great shape. This model was one of Elmer Keith's all time favorites! Gun does not appear to be refinished, but it is possible that it was factory special ordered. Flayderman's Guide refers to 38-44 Heavy Duty, 38-44 Outdoorsman & 357 Magnum as to choices that could be made when ordering.
