HG7694 From the collection of a veteran Tennessee Rifleman comes this seldom seen variant of the Smith & Wesson Chief’s Special Airweight, numbered model 37-2. From its BPW Serial number prefix, it was manufactured in December of 1993. It is distinctive for its Satin Nickel finish. Note that its frame is the classic small J frame without the buildup braces that characterized the 1996 and later Magnum frames. Specs are traditional double- and single-action revolver with 5 shot cylinder capacity. Hammer and trigger are classic case colored, .312 wide smooth combat trigger and serrated spur hammer with hammer nose type firing pin, .241 wide by .450 long spur. Weight empty is only 14 1/2 ounces. Grips are pliable, sure-gripping period correct Sile Combat finger groove type with checkered texture on both panels. Surface detractions are minimal, principally cylinder rotation marking. We rate it as Excellent, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate.
