The Ruger Super Redhawk model 5517 is a heavy-duty double-action revolver in the Super Redhawk family built for powerful magnum cartridges. It features Ruger’s triple-locking cylinder design, transfer-bar safety mechanism and a cold hammer-forged barrel. The Super Redhawk family is constructed of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and ships with a Hogue Tamer monogrip with internal recoil cushion to help manage heavy recoil.
Chambered for .454 Casull (and able to chamber .45 Colt), the Super Redhawk has unfluted cylinders in the .454/.480 chamberings and is fitted with an adjustable rear sight and a replaceable front sight ramp insert. This model is offered as a Toklat / distributor special in a stainless finish and is intended for hunting and target shooting with heavy magnum loads.
