The Ruger New Bearcat is a compact single-action revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle. It features a six-chamber unfluted cylinder and is offered in both blued chrome-moly and satin stainless configurations. The model is built with a traditional bird's-head style grip and is supplied with rosewood grip panels on factory examples.
The New Bearcat incorporates Ruger's transfer-bar safety mechanism and ships with fixed sights (blade front and factory-set rear notch) on many models; select models are equipped with an adjustable rear sight. Ruger markets the Bearcat as a lightweight, portable .22 revolver suited to hunting small game and general recreation/range use.
