The Ruger LCR is a lightweight, compact double-action revolver built on a 7000-series aluminum monolithic frame with a polymer fire-control housing. This configuration features a 1.875 in (1-7/8") stainless steel barrel, an extensively fluted stainless steel cylinder with a durable grey finish, a Hogue Tamer monogrip, and replaceable ramp front sight with a fixed U-notch rear. The standard LCR .38 Special balances concealability and controllability at a factory weight of approximately 13.5 oz.
The LCR platform is purpose-built for concealed carry and personal defense while remaining suitable for recreational range use. The design incorporates an internal lock and a friction-reducing cam fire control system that produces a smooth, non-stacking double-action trigger pull.
