Seller Description
This gun is a real collectable. Clyde Dunn was my grandfather and he was the sheriff in a small sleepy town in southern Alabama called Perdido, Alabama. It wasn't quite so sleepy in the mid 1920's to the late 1930's when my grandfather was the sheriff of this town. This is the gun he I used to " keep the peace" for 20 years.
I should keep it but a very bad divorce is forcing me to sell this family but of history.
Thus is a S&W Model 1905-4th change, caliber 32.20, 6" barrel. There were 78,903 of this variation manufactured 1915-1940. The serial number of this gun is 124495 and was made around 1917-1919. This gun is in outstanding condition, all mickle plated with a pearl grip, very rare. The sight is the original factory sight in mint condition.
The box of Remington 32.20, 100g soft point is a complete box of 50 high velocity center fire cartridges, the standard cartridge for law enforcement in that area of southern Alabama. Considering it's age, the holster is in excellent condition.
