***NOTE: NO FFL REQ. ONLY ONE PISTOL IS FOR SALE--your choice***
Here are two fine Pietta 44 cal. BP revolvers. I bought (NEW) an 1851 Navy and an 1860 Army not knowing which one I'd prefer. It turns out I love each, but can't afford to keep both. So since I can't decide which one to sell, I am letting a buyer decide for me. Here are the facts: When brand new both were timed and/or smoothed as needed and no bolt drag ring around the cylinders like on some. The 1851 Navy (brass) has the best feel in-hand, action is a bit slicker, shoots dead on at pistol ranges due to an added taller brass sight (silver soldered on top of the original sight so could easily be removed, solder is 400 deg. low temp) but looks great and original, nice and not a chop job. The 1860 Army is a bit larger and heavier gun, action is very smooth. and shoots high at pistol ranges as most all BPs do, can take a larger powder charge due to the steel frame, engraved cylinder. Both shoot extremely accurately and are tight NOT loose junk. I can outshoot most modern pistol shooters at 50 ft. using standard sights at a range and can email example targets shot with these two revolvers. Either shoots 451 balls which load with less hand force, but seem more accurate with 452 or 454 balls (452s can be had by casting with a LEE 451 mold, will often mic at 452). Both guns properly cared for, nipples cleaned and never-seize lube applied since new, no rust, corrosion or disappointment with one of these. I use wool wads over the powder charge, soaked in bees wax/mutton tallow/parrafin mix--works fabulously. Both have the positioning pin safety feature on the cylinders. I want $130 for the Navy or $145 for the Army. Again, only one is for sale--your choice.
