Since importation of the fine Daewoo DP-51 Pistols ceased about 10 years ago, and since no Daewoos or their Magazines are coming in, we were very happy to get our hands on these late 1990s production 10 rounders. Manufacturer is Daewoo of South Korea; construction is blue steel body with count ports and steel springs; high impact black polymer cartridge follower and extended floorplate piece. Capacity is 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition, down three rounds from the originals issued in the late 1980s. Smith & Wesson 5900 series magazines will work, of course, in the DP-51, but the S&W mags protrude from the grip frame butt, where these flush fit as some of our photos show. These magazines will flush fit the service size DP-51 Daewoo pistols; they will work as well with the DP-51 Compact variants, Smith & Wesson 6900 series, but with some protrusion. All of these magazines are new old stock; we found them sitting in an old West Coast warehouse. All are unissued, but some have toning and even etchy residue on their bodies from storage.
