Seller Description
This listing is for the exact revolver in the photos. The INA Tiger made a brief splash against its competitor the Rossi 33 in the late 1960s, just in time for the 1968 Gun Control Act to interfere with both companies. This is an oversized, transitional Tiger that FIE Corp brought in around 1972 after its corporate debut. Manufacturer was Industria Nacionale de Armas, of São Paulo, Brazil. Type is traditional double and single action small frame revolver. Construction is entirely steel, with Brazilian walnut magna type service grips. Frame is J Size small frame, with Square Butt Grip frame and 5 screw design. Chambering is .38 Smith & Wesson Special caliber, and this revolver was Not designed for any +P loads, only for standard load .38 Special under 800 feet per second. Barrel is 4 1/4 inch medium type, one piece steel, with six groove right hand 1:18 rifling. Front Sight is serrated blade welded into its solid rib. Rear sight is windage adjustable dovetailed blade. Cylinder capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Special standard load ammunition, not for high velocity. Ignition is hammer nose type firing pin. Trigger is .240 serrated face service type with matching serrated spur hammer. Thumb latch cylinder release is concave serrated type. Double action trigger pull is stout but consistent, 12 pound vicinity, with a 4 3/4 pound single action pull with minimal felt creep. Safety system consists of a transfer bar that prevents the firing pin from touching a cartridge primer unless the trigger is fully depressed. It does not have an internal hammer lock like current production Rossis. Weight empty is 24 ounces, centered at the trigger. Cylinder times correctly in all five positions. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal to moderate. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright and clean. We do not believe this revolver was fired more than 50 times. Finish is Brushed surface nickel, with oil finish grips. Surface detractions are moderate to extensive, with small amounts of finish peeling on the cylinder, frequent scouring, and wear to the grip panels. We rate this .32 Tiger as Good Condition, 70 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. This revolver represents an effort to comply with the size constraints of the 1968 Gun Control Act and still bring in small frame Brazilian Revolvers, and effort that intensified with Interarms’s Rossis in the 1980s. We’re offering the INA Tiger 4 inch in the photos for only $ 219.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Maryland. Not C&R Eligible.
