These rifles were converted to .303 British caliber sporting rifles. They did this at a time when 54R ammunition was not readily available in Canada. Today these are regarded as great shooter rifles that were sporterized at a time when people did not really collect military firearms. Still a unique collectible that belongs in anyone's SVT40 or Soviet style collection. The magazine was modified to hold 4rds of .303 ammunition. Overall the condition of the rifle is good, with expected bluing loss on the high points of the metal surfaces. The stock has minor storage and handling marks with no major damage or cracks noted. There is a small chip missing out of the synthetic butt plate as pictured. The bore shows strong rifling with a bit of shine to it. It does show some evidence of being a surplus firearm that fired corrosive ammunition but should still shoot very well and clean up with some elbow grease.
