Lovely & Scarce Colt Diamondback Double Action Revolver

22 LR, 6” full lug ventilated rib barrel with an excellent bore. Around circa 1978-79 Colt produced about 2200 Diamondbacks in 22 LR with 6” barrels. This beautiful example is as-new-in-box and remains in excellent condition. The metal surfaces retain about 99% original nickel. This gun features the first type checkered walnut factory target grips with the silver Rampant Colt medallions. They rate about very good showing light flaking and wear from storage and the right panel’s grip pin bushing is missing. This gun features blued serrated ramp front sight, Colt Accro adjustable rear sight, and appears to function mechanically. It includes the original factory woodgrain Styrofoam insert box that is correctly end labeled and numbered to the gun, manual, and paperwork. The end label peeled off the box but has been nicely preserved in a removable clear plastic sleeve. The box rates about very good with light to sometimes moderate edge and corner wear. A wonderful find for the Colt collector.
