Colt Commando Double Action Revolver serial #40110, 38 Special, 4” barrel with an excellent bore. This lovely early war (1942) Commando retains about 99% original Parkerized finish, showing very light scattered handling marks and minor edge wear. The service trigger and hammer have full Parkerized finish with bright sides on the hammer. The checkered factory “Coltwood” grips with Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent. The factory markings are crisp, and the only government markings are a “P” proof mark on the upper left side of the frame accompanied by a “[punch dot]” proof mark next to it. The firearm remains in excellent condition with excellent mechanical function and proper timing and lockup. The commando was well liked by the end users and makes a fine addition to any military arms collection. There is no box or papers.
