Up for auction today is a very nice 2nd Generation 1847 Colt Walker. It features a classic .44 caliber cap-and-ball design with a blued cylinder and barrel, and a case-hardened frame and weighs approx. 4.5 lbs. This gun has never been loaded or fired and the grips show a very nice pattern that you rarely see on these Colt re-issues – it is in mint condition, with no scratches to the frame and no dings to the grips. Until the introduction of the Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum in 1935, the Colt Walker was the most powerful handgun in the world, with a muzzle velocity of around 1,200 feet per second and an effective range of about 100 yards. This gun comes with the original 2nd Generation black box and hang tag.

This is a beautiful collector’s piece or a functional shooter for black powder enthusiasts.
