Seller Description
We’ve sold Pietta Firearms for over 40 years now. They’re not as well known as competitors Uberti and Pedersoli, but the fit, finish, and quality is there. Here is Pietta’s version of the classic 1873 Colt Single Action Army. Manufacturer is FAP Pietta Giuseppe & CSnc of Gussago, Italy. Importer and Warrantor is Century Arms International of Georgia, VT. Type is single action revolver. Construction is entirely steel, with Italian hardwood grips. Barrel is 5 1/2 inch six groove right hand 1:18.75 rifling. Chambering is .357 Remington Magnum and .38 Smith & Wesson Special calibers interchangeably, with 6 shot cylinder. Sights are welded blade front, with frame integral fixed notch rear. Trigger is .175 offset steel, with .335 serrated spur hammer. Photo specimen pulled at a crisp 4 3/4 pounds with minimal felt creep and overtravel. The cocking motion has the distinctive 3 clicks at half cock, full cock, and cylinder stop lock. Ignition is flat hammer face against floating firing pin, and the Pietta 1873 has a transfer bar safety device that prevents the hammer from touching the firing pin unless the trigger is fully depressed. Loading, unloading, and disassembly is identical to the parent Colt. Grips are Rosewood colorized wood, and the 1873 accepts any Single Action Army screwless grip panels, like the Ajax Ivory showing in some of its photos that cost $29 extra. Weight empty is 40 1/2 ounces, with center of gravity at the forward trigger guard junction. Finish is matte black, akin to the Remington 870 Express shotguns. This is Pietta’s Millennium economy finished variant, and buyers should not expect a flawless finish, like the photo specimen. Replacement pricing on similar pieces from competitor Uberti approaches $700 per unit. We’re offering the 1873 Single Action Millennium .357 in the photos, however, or one of its identical mates for only $ 319.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of Maryland or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $15 lower 48; $40 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority, insured with Delivery Confirmation.
