The SPNY RUGERS were DOUBLE-ACTION ONLY .38 Special SP-101s with BOBBED HAMMERS, made exclusively for police contracts, such as this one for the New York City Police Department (NYPD). They made a great companion as an Off-duty or Backup revover for those officers using a full-size Ruger as a duty weapon. Our example shows an amount of carry wear, but little signs of use. Cylinder lock-up is tight; bore and chambers are clean & bright; trigger pull is still a bit stiff in the DAO mode. Just a tiny spot of freckling under the ejector rod and a spot behind the rear sight. An excellent, strong, all-weather reliable revolver that will last just about forever.
