The Daniel Defense DD5 in the 12.5in configuration is a compact 7.62x51mm NATO semi-automatic SBR built on Daniel Defense's AR-10 platform. The factory design uses a 12.5in chrome-lined DD proprietary S2W barrel mated to the DD5 4-bolt connection system and a DD Linear Compensator, producing an overall length of approximately 33in and a product weight of about 8.2 lbs.
The DD5 12.5in SBR features a mid-length gas system with a user-adjustable gas block for reliable suppressed and unsuppressed operation, a DD5 M-LOK handguard (DD5 Rail), a fully ambidextrous safety selector, and a glass-filled polymer pistol grip with soft-touch overmolding. The DD5 platform accepts SR-25 pattern magazines and is offered by Daniel Defense as an NFA (SBR) configuration in this barrel length.
