This man gets lots of guns to shoot like he says this 1876 model is for the larger calibers , for big game not plinking or rabbits . The box of reloads he’s using aren’t working either the base isn’t sized or the primers are faulty at $79.99 I’d be back at the store demanding a refund , nice gun I’d like one in 45/70. Neat rifle, but wow the cost of ammo. The 44/40 was intended as a rifle round by Winchester, it’s a bottle neck case so at the time so it would not fit in the 44 colt revolvers. The maker should think of a cheaper low power caliber for economy shooting.
