Two new guns from Glock: Glock 41 Gen IV and Glock 42—SHOT Show 2014

Glock is rocking the show with two new pistols. The first is their all-new G42. This is a sub-compact .380 auto – slim, compact, and super concealable. In fact, it’s the smallest Glock ever introduced. They’ve combined the small size of the .380 auto platform with Glock dependability to give you a gun you can count on when the chips are down. You can see the new G42 here.

The other new Glock is their G41 Gen 4 — what they call their “practical/tactical.” This is in essence G21 internals and dimensions with a G41 slide. The longer barrel and slide help reduce muzzle flip while providing a longer sight radius for more accurate shot placement. The combination delivers an improvement in weight distribution, resulting in a well-balanced .45 ACP pistol for competition, self defense or duty carry. With a 13-round magazine, you can be sure of bringing plenty of fire power with you. Weight is a respectable 27 ounces empty. The trigger weight is a typical Glock trigger weight of 5.5 pounds. In all it is a very nice configuration for a lighter, better balanced, full size .45.Glock003

I bought my Glock 42 (just happens to be my first Glock), about as soon as they hit the market,Exactly 2 years ago. Was looking for a 380 or 9mm that was lite and easy concealable for hot summer wear clothing. After shooting the other brands simular, I LOVE IT. Your purchase is very high under the beavetail and have never been pinched. Very accurate out of the box and have never done a thing to it.Got it at a Southern Va. gunshow, out the door for $400.00.FBI check, and sales tax included.

Last gun show I was helping a buddy with his table and we had people left and right trying to trade in the G42’s. The 43, a 9mm, is just a tad longer on the slide, overall it’s the same, so now they all want the 43. Used, the G42’s are dropping like a stone.

Where is the G40? The last new ones introduced were the 37,38 and 39 if I am not mistaken.

There is word of a 9mm chamber version of the 42 coming soon. I expect it may be the G40

Finally! Someone who can speak intelligently about the product and cover the major points in 15 seconds of air time. Not bad lookin’ either.

The Glock 41 is the same price as the G35 and G34 at least wholesale price and the the Glock 42 is $90 less than a standard Glock (again wholesale price). I am not sure what retailers are going to be charging since they are new and may be a little difficult to get at first.

Saw a G42 in a Missouri gun shop yesterday for $405 out the door. If only it was in 9mm I would have picked it up. I just don’t want a .380 ACP. Good price on it though. I’m thinking most dealers will charge more, at least at first.
