Around 1 Sunday morning, 33-year-old Alonzo Brown attacked a family in their apartment in the Carmichael area of eastern Sacramento, CA. The man of the house, a legal firearm owner, defended his family with deadly force.
Sergeant Amar Gandhi of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office told CBS13 that Brown used his cell phone to track his girlfriend to the apartment.
Brown arrived at the residence with a pistol and attempted to kick in the door.

After the failed attempt to enter through the front door, Brown made his way around the building. As Brown peered in through a bedroom window, he made eye contact with the wife, who was lying in bed.
Brown took aim and fired at the woman through the window.
The wife told CBS13, “He saw me and we made eye contact and the next thing I know I am jumping out of bed because the glass is breaking.”
Additionally, the wife reported that Brown fired multiple rounds through their bedroom window, fortunately, her husband had gotten out of bed and was also armed.
The Response of a Husband and Father
Inside the apartment were a husband and his wife, as well as their son and daughter-in-law.
Further, the husband returned fire, hitting Brown several times.
“You cannot just let him come in the house with a gun,” said the husband who shot back at Brown.
Gandhi also added that the family did not know Brown or his girlfriend.
In his statement to CBS13, the father noted, “It was a good thing I had a gun. Just imagine if there was no gun.”

Brown is expected to survive his wounds. However, he is facing multiple charges for the shooting, attempted burglary, and other weapons charges. Further, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, he was known among police for his violent past.
Additionally, the firearm recovered from Brown was not registered to him and it had a magazine with more than a 10-round capacity, which is illegal in California.
In response to questions about the legality of the resident shooting back, Gandhi emphasized, “Brown is the bad guy here, let’s not hide from that. That resident’s a hero. Obviously, he defended himself, he defended his property.”

may his injuries destroy his quality of life for its remaining time. sometimes bullet wounds do that
your in the wrong state
Felon….known to “be violent”…..carrying illegal arms….Geez, I wonder what “new gun law” would’ve stopped him from doing this?🤔
He will be out on the streets in no time and the story will be fresh in everyone’s mind and then it will be hard for his girl friend to find her next hook up even in California.
too bad he survived to tell his lies about what happened
It won’t matter. He was outside shooting in, which min and of itself is a Penal Code violation, to name just one of his crimes. Pretty much eliminates any self defense claim. With his recor and the list of charges he is most likely to plead out. Hopefully he will get some significant time.
I am agreement with you that he should get significant time for what he did. I just don’t understand why people are calling him a felon before he is charged. He has had some contact with law enforcement and certainly has a temper but he has never been to prison. I don’t believe that he has ever been to jail. I believe that he is an insecure coward.
