Ruger’s Copycat Glock: The RXM — SHOT Show 2025

in SHOT Show 2025

New for SHOT Show 2025, Ruger in partnership with Magpul released the RXM. Basically a refined Gen3 Glock 19 clone, this pistol promises premium features at a competitive price.

Ruger + Magpul = Copycat Glock 19. What are your thoughts on the RXM?

While the RXM is, in fact, modeled after the legendary Gen3 G19, Ruger did a good job adding some of their own flair as they copied Glock’s homework, too.

Looking at the pistol from a distance it roughly mimics a G19 but a closer inspection quickly reveals the differences.

First, the RXM is nicely profiled with deep serrations in the front and rear of the slide and profiled edges, quite the departure from the typical Glock Block.

The RXM also features an optics cut capable of directly mounting any RMR, RMSc, or Delta Point Pro pattern optic without needing an adapter plate.

Scalloping around Ruger’s RXM ‘s mag release improves functionality.

The machined steel sights on the RXM are higher than typical stock sights to facilitate use with an optic. While the rear right is blank, the front includes a tritium dot for visibility at night.

The frame is made in association with Magpul and features a drop-in trigger unit as the serialized component. This allows for future modularity and customization as Magpul continues to make other grip modules for this pistol.

The flared magwell on the Ruger RXM should help with fast reloads.

The RXM uses standard Glock 19 pattern mags and will come with a flush-fit Magpul fifteen-rounder. Higher capacity 9mm Glock mags will run just fine also.

Overall this seems like a feature-rich pistol especially considering the $499 MSRP. I can’t wait to see just how the RXM holds up compared to the original Gen3 Glock 19 as people start to put them to work.

Be sure to check out Ruger’s website for more details on the RXM or to find a dealer near you.

Will it come to California? I know ir seems like a crazy question but some of us still like guns here.

I have had mine since they came out. In my opinion, Ruger has built a better Glock than Glock. I have roughly 1,200 rounds through it with primarily Glock mags, and not one hiccup. I’m probably going to sell my Glocks.

I’ve had mine for a month , 500rds though it without a single problem. It has a better beaver tail than the original Glock witch I love and the grip angle is slightly different wich I really love and mounted a optic straight to the slide with no plates + it’s 250$ cheaper than a gen5 mos . And the sights are fantastic, what’s not to like?

Someone needs to make a meme where Ruger copies Glock’s answer for a test, but Ruger gets an A+ and Glock gets a B-.

The perfect solution to a non-existant problem.

      Excellent response.

Too bad it’s not fully ambidextrous. The Echelon 4.0C is a better gun

Yes, but at a much higher price.
