Since the beginning of red dots, some shooters have been skeptical about depending on an electronic sight as a reliable aiming system.
While red dots like the Trijicon RMR have come a long way in terms of durability, Radian Weapons just introduced their new optic guard called the GUARDIAN™ to add an unprecedented layer of security to your optical system.

The GUARDIAN is designed to provide top, front, and side impact protection and is built to last being machined from 7075 aluminum.
While slamming a pistol red dot into a table to rack the slide and load a round isn’t normally necessary, the GUARDIAN can handle some abuse.
It also provides comfort knowing your optic will be fine in that potential situation where a quick slide against an object may be necessary.
Additionally, it is designed to completely transfer the load into the slide, completely eliminating any load on the housing or glass of the optic itself.
Utilizing a Radians STUD-LOK threaded stud/nut mounting system, the GUARDIAN provides the “most secure” mounting solution on the market. This system gives a much longer thread engagement, with increased shear resistance, as well as greater compression capabilities.
Featuring what Radian is calling a TRU-SEAL, this optic guard eliminates the need for an additional sealing plate.
The GUARDIAN comes pre-installed with O-rings on the mounting screws to keep a watertight seal with the slide, keeping out moisture, and stopping the potential for corrosion in the mounting threads.
This optic guard also doesn’t obstruct any of the field of view which is a great feature. It allows users to maintain the same situational awareness while increasing the overall durability of the weapon system.
The Radian Weapons GUARDIAN should be available around Q2 with an MSRP of around $160 without iron sights, and around $209 with them.
