The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) has issued a gun owner travel advisory for Massachusetts.

This follows the introduction of a 140-page gun control bill, House Docket 4420, by the State Legislature. The bill proposes a larger gun ban than any existing US law.

The bill includes the following provisions that have alarmed the NAGR:

  • Updates the state definition of “Assault-style firearm” to ban almost all semiautomatic firearms.
  • Bans concealed carry of firearms at private businesses unless expressly permitted.
  • Retroactive compulsory registration of all firearms.
  • Registration of all firearms magazines/feeding devices, no grandfathering.
  • Requires all feeding devices/magazines to have a serial number.
  • Ban for anyone under age 21 from buying or carrying a semi-automatic shotgun or rifle.
  • Lays out compulsory “safe storage” requirements.
  • Changes the definition of firearm to include stun guns.
  • Puts more regulations on firearms dealers.

In response to the bill, NAGR president, Dudley Brown, issued a warning.

“This is probably the biggest and worst package of gun control regulation I have ever seen, and that is saying a lot. A ban on almost all guns, registration of every gun and magazine in the state (old and new) and a de facto ban on firearms carry are in the offing,” he said.

“Massachusetts just secured top position as the most hostile state in the union to gun owners,” he added. Therefore, NAGR advises caution for all gun owners in the state or intending to travel there.

“Your gun rights and your freedom are at serious risk in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If you live there you might want to pack your bags and if you are thinking of traveling there, you need to reconsider,” said Brown.

NAGR is urging members to voice opposition to HD 4420 to the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security.

Democratic Representative Michael Day, the author of the bill, commented on the situation in an interview with Boston 25, a FOX affiliate.

“We’re not trying to go after or criminalize proper license [holders], people who can responsibly carry a firearm,” he explained.

“This is really intending to get at those that are evading our code of laws through the advancement of technology and criminal behavior,” Day added.

In September 2022, the National Foundation for Gun Rights, NAGR’s legal arm, filed a lawsuit. This suit—Capen v. Healey—challenges Massachusetts’s existing ban on “assault weapons” and standard-capacity magazines.

The lawsuit asserts that this ban contravenes the 2022 Supreme Court ruling in the NYSRPA V. Bruen case. According to this ruling, gun control laws must match the history, text, and tradition of the Second Amendment.

In this challenging context, NAGR continues to rally its members and legal power to safeguard gun owners’ rights in Massachusetts and nationwide.

This pile of garbage should be struck down before it even gets signed into law. What part of “SHALE NOT BE INFRINGED” do the leftist democrats in MA not get? I have a really good idea, let’s ban democrats and leftists. Most have no real value in society. Look at the way they run cities into the ground. They produce nothing and expect everyone else to follow their edicts. Screw that. Ban those who think communism and Marxism are good ideas.

So true. It’s amazing the place is still viable with all the moronic zombies who live in the area. It’s almost as if the entire population of these states walk around with their heads buried so far up their backsides that they’ll never be able to pull them out.
