New Video Tells Story of Moms Demand Action

in 2nd Amendment – R2KBA, Authors, S.H. Blannelberry, This Week

“Two years ago, it all started with a Facebook page,” reads the description for a new video that showcases the origin of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, the pro-gun control organization founded by Shannon Watts and funded by billionaire business magnate Michael Bloomberg.

“Today, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a national movement going toe to toe with the NRA,” it continues.

Yes, it’s true, along with its older brother Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Moms Demand Action is taking on the nation’s gun lobby in the battle over restricting one’s Constitutional rights to keep and bear arms.

While the successes of the burgeoning gun-control group can be debated, what can’t be argued is the fact that it’s here to stay. With billions of dollars backing its cause, thanks to Bloomberg pocketbook, Moms/Mayors which together comprise Everytown for Gun Safety is not going away anytime soon.  That, if anything, is the take away from the video.

Rather than trying to fight the NRA, and other organizations like them, why not sit down and find out what Moms has in common with them? Why not work with credible organizations like the Crime Prevention Research Center? I think that most would be surprised at what everyone agrees upon. No one with an ounce of common sense wants to see a yound child hurt or killed with an unsecured gun. The NRA has had a program in place for many years, Eddie Eagle, that educates children on the dangers of guns and what to do if they find a gun laying around. That’s something that I noticed was missing from MDA’s Be SMART program. Kids are curious and teaching them what to do if they find a gun is critical.

I believe that background checks is another issue that both sides agree upon, to a certain extent. No one wants to see a mentalily ill person, gang member or violent felon obtain a gun. However, requiring a background check for a private citizen to sell, trade or give, their brother, son, good friend or neighbor a gun is not where problems occur. Why doesn’t the MDA organization demand that the government enforce the 20,000+ gun laws that are already in place rather than trying to create even more laws, which only pertain to law abiding citizens? Criminals couldn’t care less what laws are enacted. So the real problem isn’t being addressed anyway. Can you imagine how Congress would act if MDA, the NRA, Mayors, NAGR, LEO’s and other 2A gun rights organizations all supported the same bill?

One last item, be TRUTHFUL in quoting statistics and others views. You lose all credibility with half truths, disclosing facts on things like polls and how they were conducted, and some things that are just not true. You may fool some of the people some of the time, but you ruin your credibility with so many more.

At some point maybe this group will learn that using made up statistics to try and make a point loses the credibility that would allow them to make some constructive headway. Made up statistics like: “90% of people support background checks” when what they mean is: ” 90% of the people who visited or liked our facebook page support background checks.” This moms group is like the folks that think that the solution to abortion is to kill the physician who performs it. The lack of touch with reality is at once stunning and frightening.

One way to stop the kind of violence is to tell the Judges to stop slapping the wrists of those who commit a crime with a weapon and stop our Governor’s from releasing gun felons
from jail because of the poor excuse of over crowding. Sponsor laws that make it a mandatory five-ten year sentence with no parole for the first offense and a 20 year sentence for the second offense. And bring back the death penalty, so we don’t have to pay 30-50 thousand dollars a year for 20-30 years.

Every day we hear of someone being shot, harmed, and robbed in cities (Chicago,NY)
who have very strict gun controls, yet nothing changes a good example: Why was this thug let out of jail? Where is the justice?

Brinsley, 28, had at least 19 arrests in Georgia and Ohio, spent two years in prison for gun possession and had a troubled childhood so violent that his mother was afraid of him”

A 23-year-old man in Chicago was charged about a month ago in the fatal shootings of two teens and the wounding of five others at a Church’s Chicken in the city’s Englewood neighborhood. Chaney had earlier been charged with four counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in 2010, but those charges were dropped this year, according to court records. He was sentenced in 2009 to one-year of court supervision for a 2009 conviction for not having a firearm registration

Isn’t it amazing how those firearms just jumped out of the trunk of that vehicle and went in and shot all those people. Lanza must have been opening the doors so the weapons could run in. Backgroud check would not have stopped this as they were stolen not bought buy Lanza. These idiots need to look at facts as they are running on emotion and not truth of facts. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, let me know how your idiosity will stop criminals from doing crime. We already have background checks and I go thru them alot. Why don’t you use brains first before emotion as emotion can be extremely dangerous for you as also other Americans. I actually had to laugh at the ignorance in this video and some of you may call me cold but this is a joke. Again, tell me how guns operate by themselves.

      All very true ~!
Tho even high volume bear liquid pepper spray(by Cold Steel) could’ve shut the mentally warped
little punk down, then tazed while disabled to take away his firearm so he could be institutionalized ~!

I believe this is yet another example of why women should never have been given the right to vote. Emotions have no business in the daily affairs of life when it comes to God given rights, and the Bill of rights. While there are women that do not support this group, and you can argue my voting stance is not valid, I am sure that their feminine wiring will show up at the ballot box and or elsewhere. The men that would sponsor this type of women and or group may as well been born female, for they lack the qualities it takes to lead a family. It is a mans nature to not only provide for but to protect those he is responsible for, it is not only his nature, it is his God given duty and right, and anyone or anything that would deny him that is a waste, a coward, and a traitor to mankind , God, and the Republic.

    • Daryl January 12, 2015, 10:48 am

      I agree with you

      • Mike January 13, 2015, 8:39 pm

Wow. Please, neither of you speak in public. You’re the ammunition these Moms need and use.

    • Leslie Fish May 10, 2017, 1:57 am

“feminine wiring”? “lack the qualities it takes to lead a family”? “man’s nature not only to provide but to protect”? SNORT! Have you ever seen a mother bear defending her cubs? Or a lioness? Or, for that matter, a mother gorilla? The “instinct” of male animals to protect and support their young is variable, as the “deadbeat dads” statistics show, but the female’s rarely falters. This is why cunning politicians have always been able to manipulate gullible women, like the “useful idiots” of MDA, by threatening their children. What you need to do is make videos that can show even the stupidest woman how armed — and trained! — citizens can keep their children safe. Smarter women don’t have to be told. Do you know how many women’s shooting organizations there are these days? Try looking it up. Get some facts, instead of hoary old patriarchal propaganda.

A face book page, where you can get “banned” from FB with out even being on or joining FarceBook!
    How does that work again??????

  • Rob January 9, 2015, 11:16 am

“Two years ago, it all started with a Facebook page,”

A Facebook page that bans every person whose comments aren’t in line with their anti-gun agenda.

Doing what the Left does best: Using emotion, not reason and facts to argue a point.

    • mtman2 January 15, 2015, 12:03 am

Again, lack of knowledge in today’s urban world along with poor civics+history being taught, most people have no experience with firearms or know the Declaration/Constitution+Bill of RIGHTS -> let alone the significance of the 2nd-Amendment.

So education from those in all areas of public contact on these two parts of this American phenomena WILL awaken many ~!
