Police in South Jersey found a firearm on a suspect in a place that, well, isn’t the most comfortable place to “pack heat.”
Last Friday, 21-year-old Darquan Lee was arrested and during his strip search in Cumberland County Jail guards found a loaded .25-caliber in his “anal cavity.”
“We’ve had handguns hidden before,” Bridgeton, NJ, Police Lt. Thomas Speranza told the Daily News, “but never anything quite like this.
“It’s a good lesson for our younger guys: You can miss something even with a pat-down.”
Lee, who has an extensive criminal history, was arrested on a contempt-of-court warrant by Bridgeton police.
Police brought him back to the station and Lee began acting strangely. He pleaded to use the restroom but after officers said they would search the stall after he finished he then changed his mind, and “refused to use the bathroom,” according to Speranza.
“We thought he had drugs on him,” Speranza said. “We had no idea.”
Officers notified the jail about Lee’s strange behavior and when he arrived he was stripped searched. During the search, he was ordered to squat and when he did, Lee removed the semiautomatic handgun from “between his butt cheeks,” according to police.
Police traced the firearm and found out it was reported stolen in Alabama.
In addition to being charged with contempt-of-court, Lee was booked on charges of firearms violations and receiving stolen property.
As mentioned, Lee has been arrested on multiple occasions for numerous criminal acts, including trespassing, failure to appear in court, aggravated assault with a firearm, obstruction of justice and robbery.

If he can hide a gun there he will be popular in the big house too. He will never run out of cupcakes and cookies.
I’m sure the fool thought he was packing a real cannon . I can’t help but think what else he sticks up there ?

I give the guy bonus points for mission dedication. But wow! I am almost speechless on this one.
And, George, if the resources you are referring to drying up is .22LR ammo…we are there already. Can’t hardly find it anywhere nowadays. I don’t agree with all this fanfare with lethal injection or using up our electrical resources for execution either. .22LR is not as cheap as it used to be…but definitely cheaper than what we use now…and just as effective. I can only hope that at some point society gets tired of giving multiple chances to violent felons, and just executes them. I think as resources dry up and the choice becomes critical, it will happen. It may seem draconian, but even the FBI says that the vast majority of crime is being committed by repeat offenders.
My first guestion on this matter. Did he leave home with gun there ? Did he put it there during the traffic stop? This takes concealed carry to a whole new level. The perfect ending to this story. The gun accidentally goes off while the officer is removing it. Does New Jersey have a law against Rectal Carry? They are slipping. The liberal gun grabbers better get their shit together. I’m sure new legislation is being conceived as I write this.
