Honor Defense Now Makes 16 Versions of the Honor Guard Pistol

New colors for the Honor Guard include: Flat Dark Earth, Olive Drab Green and Mahogany.

Honor Defense announced this week nine new SKUs of the Honor Guard compact and sub-compact models, bringing their total offerings to 16 pistols.  Not too shabby for a company that’s only been around for approximately two years.

The offerings include models designed for law enforcement and the commercial markets.

New for law enforcement is the Compact HG9CLE with a 3.8″ barrel. Offered in Black and FDE grips, they are available with or without a Manual Thumb Safety. In addition, LE versions include two 8-round magazines for backup and off-duty carry.

For the Commercial market, the Sub-compact and Compact Honor Guards are now available in FDE, OD Green and Mahogany. These are also available with a Manual Thumb Safety or without.

The new additions incorporate the following features:

  • Top-rated grip texture
  • Snag-free sights with cocking ledge
  • Ambidextrous Magazine Release
  • Ambidextrous Slide Lock
  • Ambidextrous Manual Thumb Safety (optional)
  • Stainless steel chassis
  • Serrations over the top

“Shooters like variety,” said Gary Ramey, Honor Defense President, in a press release. “So we are trying to provide handguns with features they desire, such as compact and long-slide versions, as well as manual safeties and even colors that make their guns stand out.”

“We have grown to have a family of 16 pistol SKUs since January 2016. With advanced design engineering, we will continue to build on that success” added Ramey. “We will remain focused on designs that are ambidextrous, modular, and do not need tools or trigger pull for disassembly. We’ll also be adding more grip sizes, calibers and barrel options in the future.”

If you’re not familiar with the Honor Guard, it is a striker-fired pistol chambered in 9mm made right here in the good old USofA.  It has many of the bells and whistles that one has come to expect in a top-end EDC gun, including ambi controls, front slide serrations, removable sights, optional thumb safety all at a price point that won’t make your wallet weep.  I’ve seen them listed for under $400 on GunsAmerica.
