High Noon Springfield XD-M Showdown: Rob Leatham Vs. Clay Martin — SHOT Show 2017

in Authors, S.H. Blannelberry, SHOT Show 2017

The ultimate showdown, GunsAmerica’s Clay Martin versus Springfield’s Rob Leatham!

The contest is a return-the-plate shootoff!  Who will win?  Will it be Clay, the former Recon Marine, Scout/Sniper, Green Beret or Rob, the 24-time USPSA National Champion and the 7-time International Practical Shooting Confederation World Champion?

It’s the combat vet versus the competitive shooter!  The Texan versus TGO (The Great One).  Two men will enter, but only one will leave with the title and his pride intact…

Ah, who cares who “won.”  It’s all about having fun, right?

You know, one of the most underrated aspects of SHOT is the people you get to meet and hang out with.  Seriously, if you like putting lead down range with uber gun nerds and all around good people, you’d absolutely love Media Day.  This video is just a small taste of what it was like to be there.  Lot’s of laughs, lots of fun and lots of cool guns.

On a side note, legend has it that if you best Leatham in a shooting match, he gives you a black hat as a prize.  It’s sorta like those restaurants that give out t-shirts to the customers who finish off the 64 oz. prime rib (including fat and gristle) or the 8 lbs. of pasta salad.  It’s a real badge of honor for the intrepid few who not only have the temerity to take on the challenge but who actually succeed at it as well.

(Editor’s note: Clay indubitably has a few of those restaurant tees. No black hat, though. LOL)

Clay, you look like you’re having WAY TOO MUCH FUN at the Shot this year (like a boot Private at a Fayetteville used car lot with his enlistment bonus in his pocket). Keep up the coverage, us old “has beens” are enjoying you phoning it in to our Team Rooms.
