A 69-year old Ohio woman shot and killed a female intruder who forced her way into the victim’s home in North Olmsted, Ohio. The intruder, identified as 21-year-old Keyarra Tompkins, was killed after fighting with the homeowner’s 72-year old husband.

According to police reports, Tompkins broke into the couple’s home late Sunday night. After struggling with the husband, the wife picked up a firearm and shot the intruder in the abdomen.

The identities of the couple are not being released, although the North Olmsted Police department said they will not be charged with any crimes. Police are investigating why Tompkins targeted them, their house, and their neighborhood.

As it stands, it appears to have been a random act of violence. The homeowners say they have never met Tomkins and have no relationship with her.

Tomkins knocked on their door around 11 o’clock at night, waking the homeowners. When they answered the door, Tomkins forced her way in, prompting the shooting. Tomkins was taken to a local hospital, where she died.

The report includes a portion of the 9-1-1 call. “You heard the gun inside the residence?” asked the operator. “No, I shot the gun,” said the woman, “Please! This has never happened to me before!”

The operator then asked, “Are you safe right now?” The woman replied, “Yeah, there’s a car parked in our driveway. We need an ambulance,” she said.

The operator continued. “You need an ambulance?” “Yes, I shot a gun, please hurry,” said the woman.

Speaking to the local press after the break-in, a neighbor, Tatyana Wargo said she “had goosebumps all over [her] body,” after learning about the apparently random attack.

Wargo also said she had a Ring security system installed, but discontinued her service. She said she would reactivate it as soon as possible. “I was going to do it last night, but we didn’t because we were decorating and I’m doing it today,” she said.

“Why did they pick that house?”

That’s easy. They cased it, saw an older couple living there and figured easy pickings. Figured wrong, scumbag. Excuse me, ‘DEAD scumbag’…

C/P “The identities of the couple are not being released.”

Most likely to protect the innocent homeowners from any kind of retaliation. Maybe the media should have considered that before they splashed video of their home all over the news…smh…

I object to this article, or at least the headline. I think labeling someone who is only 69 years old as “elderly” is completely wrong. That’s my go&*amn age! I might not recognize the person in the mirror but I would never refer to myself as elderly for goodness sake. I reserve using the word “elderly” to people over 80 (and when I am 80 it will move to 90), thank you very much.

Haa. That’s a good one! But you should be careful of what you request God to damm. You just may get your “prayer” answered! Or you might not be aware that God’s last name is not “damm”, but actually it’s ALMIGHTY! And that He deserves a bit more respect then exhibited.

“Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Exodus 20:7

      Just saying…

Such a waste considering the price of ammo these days. Hopefully someone reimburses the good lady for the rounds fired. A real unfortunate loss for her.

Bless that senior defender’s heart, she must be deeply traumatized.
Can she get a medal, or key to the city, or some such recognition, perhaps?

And the democrats think that law abiding people should not be able to own firearms. If they weren’t armed, the story would probably have a very different ending.
