A CCL holder saved the day last week after shooting an unhinged suspect in a Texas restaurant.

The incident began at Woody’s Smokehouse in Leon County Texas. According to Sheriff Kevin Ellis, the perp entered “the business in a harassing manner,” on August 14.

Police received a 911 call and officials responded to the site at around 12 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office for Leon County posted a press release on Facebook regarding the incident.

The alleged attacker, who was later identified as Kevin Craig Anderson, “aggressively approached several customers” of the smokehouse. Anderson then made his way to the men’s restroom, where he proceeded to assault an elderly man.

After knocking the elderly man unconscious, Anderson continued to physically abuse the man until someone else intervened.

One of the other customers stepped in and was also attacked by Anderson. He was “knocked to the floor.” The customer, who was licensed to carry in Texas, pulled a firearm and fired two shots.

One of the two shots struck Anderson’s right arm and he then fled the scene. Police found him later parked in a car on the shoulder of the interstate.

In an interview with KBTX, Diana Wood, a co-owner of the smokehouse, shared her perspective. According to Wood, there were two men being assaulted, and a third was being attacked when he pulled out his gun.

Regardless of the specifics, the customer received much gratitude.

After The Assault

After he was found, an emergency helicopter was used to fly Anderson to the “St. Joseph ER in Bryan.” He was later taken to a hospital in Houston for further treatment.

According to the press release, two victims were injured, with one also being taken to St. Joseph’s.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that “All parties involved were not citizens of Leon County.”

Sheriff Ellis has said the case is still under investigation. No charges have been announced yet.

Conclusion

In her interview with KBTX, Wood emphasized the importance of prayers for protection. “Prayers for my team and customers that were involved would be greatly appreciated.”

She continued “We are thankful to law enforcement for the fast service and the capture of the attacker,” reminding everyone to appreciate their loved ones and pray for their safety.

Wood drove home the message that you never know what may happen. The customer who was armed understood the importance of the Second Amendment and stepped up when it mattered.

“Are you prepared to do the same? ”
Not only am I prepared, but I live for this scenario!
I carry a firearm going down to the mailbox!
I’ve been a shooter all my life, military small arms instructor, in general all-around American Patriot badass!
I will never hesitate to use my firearm in a case like this, as messages need to be sent to these people, to the criminal element, and everyone else that think they can bully people as they see fit!
That is the purpose of the Second Amendment, not to go hunting or target shooting, but self-protection and the protection of others from the criminal element, whether it be a government tyrant or the ordinary criminal, the Second Amendment is here for our protection!
    EOL!
