Overview
The Glock booth became a clash of titans briefly on SHOT Show range day. An immovable force met an unstoppable object, lightning crashed like a phalanx colliding, and the sea ran red with the blood of heroes. Or something like that. At the very least, two old smokers, one with Glock inc, one with GunsAmerica and a camera crew of misfits, had a pretty kick-ass shoot off.
Head to Head
Joseph Parent is an old friend of mine, and we have gone back and forth at wins in USPSA and 3-Gun over the years. In fact, I remember distinctly he beat me by 1% the last time we had a match together. Joseph works at Glock, Inc. now, as the director of GSSF. As soon as I found out he was working range day, I knew we had to make it competitive somehow.
What would be the weapon of choice? As the challenged, Joseph had the right to choose. Glock 40 MOS in 10mm, support hand only. 10mm can be quite a handful, but the Glock platform absorbs the recoil better than most, so this would be doable.

The first steel challenge was a tie, so we went to sudden death overtime. USPSA head A zones at 20 meters, best of 5. I won by one shot, leaving Team GunsAmerica once again undefeated at range day. And the armorer from Glock that set up our guns? Well, he earned that Benjamin in spades. That’s an old Green Beret trick for you folks watching at home. Strength is no match for treachery and deceit.

That was fun. Go Idaho!
HaHAHah! Good Story, Clay. It only takes one to win! Reminds me of my old butt bud Cooper and our decades enduring private shootouts over the great 9mm v. .45 debate. Tournaments weren’t that ‘rewarding’ back then. The best money was in hustling ‘back stage’. Some of the best shooters in the world never attended a 3 gun match, not even to watch!, lol! The Big Ten mm is my regular go to carry also.
