Alien Remus: A Stupidly Expensive Carry Pistol — SHOT Show 2025

in SHOT Show 2025

Let’s get one thing out of the way: the Alien Remus from Laugo Arms is no ordinary concealed carry pistol. This $6,200 wonder is making waves, not just for its cutting-edge features, but for its jaw-dropping price tag.

At SHOT Show 2025, I got to spend some time with the Remus, and I’ll be honest—it’s a masterpiece in innovation. But is it worth the price of admission, or are we looking at a case of “a fool and his money are soon parted”?

Let’s break it down.

The Build: Compact but Feature-Packed

At 7.2″ x 5.5″ x 1.3″ and weighing 29 ounces, the Alien Remus strikes a balance between compact and robust. It boasts a 4″ barrel, a 15-round flush magazine, and a modular grip system that makes it customizable. You can swap grip panels, backstraps, and magwells with just one screw, tailoring the fit to your hand size or shooting style.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The Push-to-Rack (P.T.R.) system allows you to rack the pistol using the optic—a neat trick that adds convenience, especially in high-stress situations. Plus, the non-reciprocating optic rail keeps your red dot steady during firing.

Performance: Shooting from Another Dimension

The Alien Remus delivers performance that feels otherworldly. Its gas-delayed blowback action and fixed barrel mean faster cycle times and impressive shot cadence.

Combine that with the lowest bore axis in the world, and you’ve got a pistol that virtually eliminates muzzle rise. Follow-up shots? Lightning fast.

And let’s not forget the Strike Industries P.T.R. optic rails, optic plates for RMRcc, RMS, and ACRO, and iron sights. Laugo Arms didn’t just build a pistol—they built a shooting system.

The Kit: A Premium Presentation

At just 7.2″ x 5.5″ x 1.3″ and weighing 29 oz, the Alien Remus is compact yet robust. Its 4″ barrel is built for accuracy, while the included premium kit ensures you’re ready out of the box. (Photo: Laugo Arms)

The Alien Remus doesn’t skimp on the extras. The premium kit includes:

  • Two magazines (15-round and 17-round)
  • Modular grip panels, backstraps, and magwells
  • Optic plates and iron sights
  • A G-Code Phenom Commando holster
  • Cleaning tools

Out of the box, it’s a complete package that screams luxury.

The Elephant in the Room: $6,200

Here’s where things get sticky. At $6,200, the Alien Remus is astronomically priced for a concealed carry pistol. Let’s be real: is anyone truly spending that kind of cash for their EDC? Evidently, yes. People are buying it, but it begs the question—are they paying for performance or exclusivity?

Sure, the Remus offers features you won’t find on most pistols, and it’s undoubtedly a joy to shoot. But in a world where reliable concealed carry options exist for a fraction of the cost, this feels like a “halo product.” It’s premium, it’s rare, and it’s a statement piece—but does it genuinely justify the price tag?

Who’s This For?

The Alien Remus is for someone who:

  1. Values innovation and cutting-edge design over budget.
  2. Wants a carry gun that doubles as a conversation piece.
  3. Has $6,200 burning a hole in their pocket.

For the rest of us, it’s a fascinating look at what’s possible when engineering meets extravagance.

Final Thoughts: Worth It or Wildly Overpriced?

The Alien Remus is undoubtedly a marvel of firearm design. Its features, craftsmanship, and shooting performance are second to none. But at $6,200, it’s hard not to wonder if this is more about bragging rights than practicality.

So, is it worth it? That depends. If you’re someone who appreciates the finer things in life and can justify the cost, the Alien Remus might be the ultimate flex. For everyone else, it’s a beautiful dream—one that’s probably better admired from afar.

Let us know in the comments: Would you spend $6,200 on the Alien Remus, or is this a case of form over function?

I’ll pass and get a new Ruger RXM

It’s a blowback and uses a detachable magazine which means it’s the newest gun to ban. The Colorado gun grabbers are claiming that gas-operated semi-autos of any type that use detachable magazines are “loophole” designs to get around “high-capacity” magazine bans. Can’t make up this level of crazy.

Nope, not spending 6K for a pistol for EDC ! Like you said, there are a host of EDC pistols that will do exactly what i need at a fraction of the price ! If you want one, and can afford it, that is still your choice to make…

  • Matt January 22, 2025, 2:31 pm

    $1500 tops.

If I was the one with $6200 burning a hole in my pocket and wanted a carry gun, I would buy a G43X and send the other $5800 on something practical like women and booze.

      LMAO… Rock on…

  • R. Bryant January 22, 2025, 11:42 am

OR 12 Glocks for the same money……….? What the hell is wrong with people these days ? More money than brains.

  • LJ January 22, 2025, 9:55 am

    What can it do a Glock 19 can’t do – for $500?

  • Dr Strangelove January 22, 2025, 9:41 am

For that price it should do dishes and vacuum.

  • Grim January 22, 2025, 9:30 am

I’d love to own one but not at that price. I honestly do not see it’s value at more than half of that cost.

  • Jake January 22, 2025, 8:18 am

I would certainly like one, but as noted it is pricey in the extreme. I believe these are Czech manufactured and it looks a lot like a CZ P10 F Competition. If I recall correctly the Aliens are designed by the same guy who designed the CZ Scorpion, which is way better than most AR based 9mm carbines and surprisingly costs less than most of them too.
