The Springfield Armory XD Mod.2 4" Service/Mod.2 pistol is a striker-fired, full-size polymer handgun built on Springfield’s XD Mod.2 platform. It features a 4" hammer-forged steel barrel (Melonite® treated on Mod.2 designs), a forged/stainless slide paired to a black polymer frame, and an accessory rail for lights/lasers.
The Mod.2 service pistols incorporate Springfield’s GripZone texture, the Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) trigger system, a tactile loaded-chamber indicator and a striker status indicator. The design uses a dual captive recoil spring with a full-length guide rod and ships with factory low-profile combat rear and sights (dovetail / service models).
