This is an origional REMINGTON .44 Cal. single shot CANE GUN! There were only 1800 of these made between 1858 and 1866. This fully functional antler handled relic was owned by " J.D. Taylor", and bore an engraved brass collar stating "J.D. Taylor 1883". The standard Remington's mostly came with dog head metal handles and this one was either ordered by Mr. Taylor with a custom antler handle or was custom made to reflect his outdoor tastes. This cane gun was recently (2007 Jan.) appraised at $3000.00 and a certified appraisal from "Classic Arms Company" will be provided w/fax before purchase or the origional will be shipped with the cane.
