This listing is for the exact rifle in the photos. Mossberg’s 4x4 rifles entered the field in 2007, after a 40 year absence from the high powered rifle manufacturing field. Mossberg got it right, and here is their best, the 4x4. The 7mm Remington Magnum still gives the optimal combination of range, manageable recoil, and accuracy. Manufacturer is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT. Type is bolt action high powered rifle. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, and receiver with polymer trigger housing, and removable internal polymer magazine. Stock is specially sculpted and contoured Semi gloss American Walnut. Chambering is 7mm Remington Magnum Caliber, with 3 shot magazine, so 3+1 total capacity. Barrel is 24 inch fluted, 1:10 right hand six groove button rifling with BOSS type removable Muzzle brake, which brings the total barrel length out to 26 1/2. Metal finish is non glare matte blue, with matching bolt face, handle, and cowl; and with white steel bolt body. This rifle comes furnished with mounted Weaver Scope Bases, that measure 4 3/4 inches between their slots, so 5 inches or more of scope tube with no extension rings needed. Safety is very quiet, mounted on the right side behind the bolt handle. Stock is cut checkered US walnut, with Monte Carlo, stippling, and five ventilation ports on the forend area for heat dissipation and reduced glare. Sling studs are blue steel. Length of pull is 13 3/8 inches from the LBA trigger face to the end of the 1 inch decelerator type recoil pad. Weight empty is 6 pounds 13 ounces, with center of gravity at the breech face. Trigger is factory LBA type, set on its 3 pound vicinity off the line setting, with negligible felt creep. This specimen served light duty as a showgirl for Mossberg’s sales team, on the road with a sales rep or in trade shows like the annual SHOT show in Las Vegas. Surface detractions are minimal, principally faint contact marking on the stock and barrel. We rate this Mossberg 4x4 as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. If this rifle was ever fired, it was no more than 20 times. It comes in a Mossberg factory box with lock and instruction manual that contains Mossberg’s warranty statement.
