General Specs: Winchester, Year 1953, .348WCF, 8lbs 9oz Serial Number: 37310 Here we have a very high condition Winchester Model 71 Deluxe Rifle, complete with the factory sling swivels, factory Lyman No. 56 peep sight, 99.5% factory blue on the barrel, 99% factory blue on the receiver, 98% factory blue on the lever, 98% factory blue on loading gate, and 98% wood with a few light finish scratches, near perfect factory checkering, and exceptionally figured wood for a Model 71 Deluxe. The Model 71 was basically a continuation of the Model 1886, with the same action, but the addition of the pistol grip butt stock and beavertail style forend. Manufactured from 1935 until 1958, the Model 71 was produced in .348 Winchester caliber only. There were very few Deluxe Rifles made, which came with sling swivels and sling, checkered wood, and a grip cap. This Deluxe M71, serial number 37310 made in 1953, is a great example of a 71 Deluxe as it is in super-high original condition in the way of metal finishes and comes complete with perfect mechanics, perfect bore and rifling, and is a barely fired vintage Winchester Deluxe rifle. The Winchester .348 is a great mid-range caliber, shooting a 200-grain slug at a velocity of around 2500 fps. for plenty of brush-bucking power. The ammunition is still available on the trigger is crisp, breaking at 4.25lbs. and the rifling is clean, sharp, and mirror shiny. When you look at the quality of the wood, checkering, and untouched configuration of this gun compared to other guns being offered, along with high percentage of factory blue, correct sights, no pits, or stains, this is a better gun for the money. It would be hard to find a better Model 71 Deluxe with all these goodies and at this price. Thanks for looking.
