Winchester pre-64 Model 70 Featherweight .30-06. Made in 1956, serial 411609 has a 22-inch barrel with a hooded ramp front sight and folding rear sight. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 6.8 pounds and length-of-pull is 13.5 inches over the metal butt plate. CONDITION: Bore is very good, with strong rifling and no signs of roughness. Bolt serial (electric pencil) matches. Metal finish is about 85 percent, with thinning concentrated near muzzle, on the bolt knob, on the floorplate and around the guard. Wood integrity is about 80 percent, with a scattered sampling of scratches and impressions, plus a hairline crack at the tang that will easily stabilize. Wood finish is about 60 percent, with significant varnish thinning and the resulting open grain and pores. The price is firm and layaway is available.
