Winchester Model 88 Carbine .284 Caliber

All Winchester Model 88 Carbines (19" barrel verses 22" rifle) began manufacture in 1967 through 1973. Available in .284, (three years only) .243 and .308 calibers. Approximately 7,000 were manufactured in .284 and upwards of 10,000 each in .243 and .308. I have one each a .284 and .308, both are for sale. Add to the price for the .284 an additional 1,250.00 for the .308 caliber Carbine. It is believed my .284 is not only the first Carbine in .284 released for sale but likely the first carbine manufactured in all calibers released for sale to the public. By its serial number, 2125xxA, is verified as a first year production carbine, also verifies it as the 84th firearm produced that year in all models, reasonably confirming this claim. My .308 caliber is also a first year production firearm serial # 216xxxA, The 284 is in 95% condition having had less than 20 rounds of ammunition fired though it. I purchased the .284 from its original owner. In the 30 years I have owned it I have never fired a round through it. These firearms are 50 + years old by NRA collectable condition the .308 is excellent condition (NRA 80+%) having been kindly used for hunting and having normal handling marks.
