Winchester Model 1897 Shotgun, 1917

Up for your consideration is a nice old Winchester Model 1897 12 GA solid frame shotgun. The Model 1897 was first listed BY Winchester in the November 1897 catalog. This particular slide action repeating shotgun is from 1917 (the serial # is 616___). It has a 30” rolled steel barrel with full choke. It features an external hammer; walnut stock and round slide handle and has a 5 shell tubular magazine capacity. This shotgun is in good shape for its age... having been stored in a rec room as the pictures show. Please let me know if you would like any additional photos. It was fired most recently about three years ago. The stock is solid with no checks or cracks but does have some scratches and nicks. The butt cap is intact. There is some evident rust and obvious signs of age but I think it will clean up well and make for a nice working piece of American history.
