This beautiful set of Winchester Model 1895 pays tribute to the 100th Anniversary, Safari Centennial "1909-2009", of President Theodore Roosevelt's Grand African Safari. Theodore Roosevelt referred to the Model 1895 in .405 Winchester as his "Big Medicine" for African Lion, the rifle/cartridge combination he favored for Africa's most dangerous game. The set includes a Model 1895 Custom Grade with gold tone embellishments of African big game animals on a blued receiver plus gold appointments on lever and muzzle, this Custom Grade rifle also features Grade III/IV walnut with fine cut checkering on the butt stock and forearm. The second rifle in the set is a Model 1895 High Grade, also with gold tone embellishments of African big game animals but on a silver nitride receiver plus Theodore Roosevelt's signature on lever (also on the Custom Grade), this High Grade rifle also features Grade II/III walnut with checkering on the butt stock and forearm. Each rifle features a buckhorn rear sight and a Marble gold bead front sight, receivers are drilled and tapped for scope mounting, a 24" barrel with an overall length of 42", 13 -1/4" length of pull and weigh 8 Lbs.
