Winchester 1894 - Rifle - .38-55

This is an 1894 Winchester rifle that was manufactured in 1906, serial # 353XXX, and is chambered in .38-55 Win. It features a 26" round barrel, full magazine, and crescent steel butt-plate. The overall condition of the rifle is approximately 80%. The barrel and magazine retain approximately 60% blueing which is turning into plumb brown. The receiver is likewise turning plumb and retains little to no blue. The wood is in exceptional condition. There are no major gouges or scratches. However, there is one small hairline crack located on the toe of the butt-stock. I am not certain, since I am not an expert, but the wood may have been refinished sometime in the past. If so... the refinish was professionally done as the wood to metal fit is still proud. The bore is in very good condition with strong rifling. It is frosty in appearance with no rust or pitting. The rifle retains the factory original rear sight and is fitted with an antique Lyman front sight that features an ivory sight bead. The workings of the gun are solid and tight, the action is smooth, and the gun feeds and works flawlessly. The rifle is accurate and a joy to shoot.
