Here is the Winchester Brand Variant of the FN Browning BAR Long Trac Oil Finish in .300 Winchester Magnum. Both rifles, this one and the Browning BAR currently produced, are substantially identical. These rifles and their ancestors are legendary for our Tennessippi hunters who skirt our bottomland bean fields; even our friends in the Delta use them just a few miles away. While neither it nor its Browning Counterpart are strongly reminiscent of the original BAR and BAR Mark II rifles, the mechanism on this Winchester Super X Grade I is similar with some substantial improvements. Barrel is 24 inch forged steel medium weight. This rifle is improved over the older BARs with its multiple lugs. Detachable box magazine is the newer variant that guards against nose-down jams. Buttstock is shim adjustable for cant and pitch. Note the stylized cut checkering in the oil finished European Walnut Stock and Forend; this is reminiscent of the checkering on the old classic 88 and 100 Winchester Rifles. Overall length is 7 pounds 8 ounces; overall length is 44 inches. Lightweight receiver, of course, is glossy anodized finish, and it is drilled for scope mounts.
